Hi again

It's called Montero in the USA, Shogun in UK and Pajero to the rest of the world.

The Montero Sports is the equivalent of the Challenger elsewhere. There are variants like Short Wheel Based or LWB, semi High Roof, Metal or Canvas top, and feature wise, being designated as GL/GLS/GLX.

I believe in the UK, the 3500 with the Super Select tranny is called the Super Exceed Shogun.

Other than these, they are all practically the same beast, save for the right or WRONG side driving, HEHEHEH.........

One major difference is that Pajeros can come with teh GDI 3.5 litre engine and Triptronic 5 speed auto tranny whereas the Montero's or Shoguns do not. I believe all diesels are the same 2.8 litre variety.

Not entirely true. I have a 3.8 Montero LTD with a tiptronic 5spd auto.
I do know the diesel version was never available in the US, but furthermore, '05 was the last year for the Montero in the US (IMG:style_emoticons/default/puzzled.gif)
I'm not too upset. I don't care much for the newer body style anyway. They took away most of the curves and styling that made the 01-06 models unique.

Diesels are the 2.5 4D56 Engine with around 100 HP, the 2.8 with around 125 HP and for the new model the 3.2 with at the beginning 160HP

And in Spain it was also sold as Montero
