Now i was thinking, what is the point carrying around the SRS computer under the arm rest when its not gonna work anywya.

i beleieve just have to disconnect the
srs control unit
take the sensors out
and take the bag out from the passanger side since the driver bag was gone with momo steering wheel.

so would i be right??????? or am i missing something...

hey - that's a great idea... you can save a few more #s too if you remove the seat belts and the under bumper - you'll be light as a feather and as fast as a flash

in that case you change anything out of a standard motor for better performing equipment, is illegal here in ireland.

Your insureance class changes, they give you hassel for being young and having a big engine car and what not......

that hasent stopped me yet.............

has it stopped youz??? i dont think it has...

ahh sorry dint see the momo wheel

well if its legal over there to deactivate saftey devices ... i guess u can remove it if u want ...its your car...

and illegal depends on if they have any kind of inspection most states here have some kind of inspection and if u put illegal exhaust or suspension or deactivate safety equip they fail your inspection and or fine u and or impound the car (depending on the state)

The SRS light doesn't mean they're not functioning. That light just has a tendency to be on. All it needs, is to have the codes cleared for the light to go off... the airbag(s) still work perfectly fine. And just because you removed one, doesn't mean the other won't blow as far as I know.

it does mean that ...the system wont work at all if there are codes
so if u get in a crash with a passenger.. they are probably eating dashboard...

so get the codes cleared and it should work?
if yes worth keeping if not then wht? take it off????
usually ppl tend to take the bulb out for the srs light to get rid of it.

and is there an easy way to get the code cleared?

uh, no it doesn't. The airbags will still go off, even if there's a light on for it. They turn on if the battery has been disconnected for any length of time, after so many years the lights just come on... but the airbags still work.
