Ever since me and my ex bought this car from the dealer the temp gauge has just been sitting in about the middle and never moves... Does anyone have any ideas how I would fix this? Not sure if its the gauge it self or not.

Anyway to check?

Have you checked the thermostat? I had a stuck one in my car and the engine always was at like 1/4 on the temp gauge. On my truck it was worse. The damn thing stuck shut and would overheat the engine.

Easy way to tell, pull it out and stick it in a pot of boiling water on the stove. If it moves it should be fine if it doesn't its done for get a new one. They are like 5-10 bucks anyway.

If the gauge is stuck in the middle even when the car has been off and is cool I would say its a bad gauge vs. the thermostat. If the thermostat was bad the gauge would still record the correct temp since both the thermostat and temp gauge are not the same item. If the thermostat stayed open all the time the car would take longer to get up to temp but again the gauge would still record the actual temp. I would think its a bad gauge; replace it.
