Hello everyone!
About six months ago, I moved from Sweden to Houston and about four months ago I bought my first car ever. I bought an automatic 2007 Eclipse GS from a car dealer here in Houston.

I was stupid and didn’t check what service had been done with her before I bought her. Nothing has been written down in the service book so I don’t know if any service has been done (she is at app. 39 000 miles by now, 37 000 when I bought her; she just passed the annual vehicle inspection). The dealership doesn’t know and are prohibited to contact the previous (and only) owner and ask. What do you think I should do?

Another problem is that when I bought her, the dealer said that I shouldn’t rotate the wheels. The wheels in the back are better than the front ones, could this be it?

And also, the last thing is that my steering wheel starts to shake when I hit 70 mph. Could it be something with the wheel alignment?

I really appreciate all the help I can get ‘cause I feel a bit lost here.

well... if they are the original selling dealer they would have records of what services were done..
and at 39k at least the 30k service should have been done ..u can check the manual to see what needs to be done at 30 and check to see if it looks like it has been done..

if not at least a 30k should be done...

if the the front tires have not been rotated and balanced and r worse than the rears (which gives u an indication of how well it was serviced also) rotating them might not make sense wear wise and safety wise if they r that bad maybe replacing at least 2 then would be better...

and alignment doesnt give u vibration wheel balance does but again if alignment hasnt been done either.. more indications of service (or lack of)

and they might not be able to tell u the previous owner but u can find out...
