the fuel filter is under the battery tray, you need really good fitting spanners or sockets to undo the unions, they are very TIGHT! the fuel pump is in the tank attacted to the fuel tank sender, it can be reached by removing the spare wheel and the storage tray on the passenger side of the car, you will see a square metal cover held in by 4 screws remove that and you will see the delivery and return pipes and the fuel tank sender is underneath round with some small nuts round the outside.
If you intend to go ahead and do this job be aware that these are also very Tight and many people who do tackle this job end up wrecking the the fuel tank pipes rendering the whole unit useless, these are an arm and leg to by new!! I'm sure others here will add their experiences of doing this.

thanks to everyone with all the great information i was able to easily change my fuel filter... well getting the fittings off wasnt that easy but wearing the gloves was a huge help in not tearing up your knuckles.. i guess while on the fuel subject would it be safe to use seafoam engine cleaner for my engine? basically what i want to do is pour bout half of a can down into a vacuum line going to the intake to help clean out tons of carbon that may be built up in the engine... it has 140 000 miles on it right now and i just want to know if it is safe or is there a better way to do this as i am trying to eliminate some engine hesitation i am experiencing when the car is started cold

don't touch the fuel pump in the rear. you will strip the bolts and then you're screwed.

Change you spark plugs and wires.
