im switching over to the purple power but what do the #'s mean? ex 15-30... 10-40.... i know it has to do with the makeup of the oil but what should i consider when I am choosing an oil for my car? IM also posting a thread on an audi forum but I really respect your guys' opinions so I wanna hear from you all as well. Thanks

Since your in south florida, you're probably going to want at least 5w-20, but better might be 5w-30 or even 5w-40.
The 5w helps with cold starts and the 30 or 40 will protect better in the heat.

in south florida i would go with either 5-30 for optimal fuel performance and fuel efficiency or 5-40 (or 10-40) for spirited driving. You really dont need 5w low end because florida temps would never drop below -10F, but the thinner the oil the faster your engine will get lubricated.
I wouldn't go over 40 on the high end, unless you're running FI and NOS i doubt your engine would ever reach high enough temps where 40+ is needed. The higher the number the more crap is added to oil to make it chemically resistant to heat.

Just a quick update:

I have 1000 miles on the RP oil and filter and the engine noise is still quieter than before the RP oil. Also, engine temps remain a bar or two lower than before switching to RP.

If she doesn't want people to "harass" her, she shouldn't have that as her personal photo. I don't understand why woman where low cut v-neck shirts and then yell at guys for looking, etc... Drives me crazy!!

Anyways, happy to hear the RP still keeps that engine noise down a little more. A guy at my work thought it had a diesel engine because it is kinda noisy. I am definately looking for RP when I do my first oil change!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif)
