I just picked up some metra 1" plastic spacer rings to put my 6.5" infinity kappas in. I got them at best buy SKU: 82-4300 but you can get them on the net cheaper. Comes with everything you need.
Now to my problem haha I read in a post yesterday which wire (green or yellow) is positive and negative. Anyone know?

www.sonicelectronix.com carries pretty much everything. I have been buying from them for years! they will have what you need. And I am unsure what color is what as I have not changed my speakers yet, I am sure you could use a volt meter to find out.

I just made a full post on my complete successful install of amp and speakers all around. You can find ALL the information you need for the speakers in this post.

Use the metra 1" spacers I listed in my last reply. They work perfect and I describe how to install them in the link above.

I used the stock speaker mounts. Removed (cut out) the integrated speakers from the mounts and then custom fit my new kicker speakers on the same mounts, did some welding with Solder iron for wires and its working perfectly fine for the last 8-9 months.

Using the stock spacers will work. If you are putting more than stock power to them, you will probably get more rattle and distortion because they are held in with those twisting plastic clips. With the metra spacers, they are really solid because they are screwed in. It's just a matter of a little cash and if you would rather cut or drill. Either way, both solutions will work for your application.

Good solution assassins,

Thanks becker...actually I got the idea from someone in this forum. I was not able to locate that thread, he had shown the pictures of the whole process.

And you are right, if you are going for higher power, you would need better mounts.
In my case im still using stock system, just replaced the speakers so it worked.

One question about Tweeters.
There is a tweeter place holder on the front doors with a wire connection. Any idea if this is working, i mean if i buy tweeters can I simply connect to these wires and will it work ?
Any specific max power limit for tweeters on stock system. I dont want to spend much on these.

Thanks..

The tweeter location is tapped in to the stock wiring. I plugged an old kenwood 6.5 in to it to see if it was live before I started cutting things up. It did work so a tweeter could plug right in. However, without a crossover, your tweeter will get a full range signal instead of just the high tones. At the low power of the stock unit, i don't know if it will harm your speaker but it is hard to know without trying it!
