No problem if you want to install a larger capacity alternator. The one you have installed is probably large enough but not really outputting what it was when new. Generally, I find owners who want more electrical power is better to start with a larger capacity battery first because they seem to take a hammering with power draw when the vehicle is idle. If you can store enough power most alternators will keep topped up. This is probably your cheapest option and will need even if you decide to get a larger capacity alternator.

Do some research on battery types and what you can physically fit within your enclosure. You not only want something which has a decent CCA (cold crank amps) to start the engine but a battery that is rated for aH (amp hours). This is more standby applications and it may work out to get what you need you may install two batteries connected in parallel. I did this for one person as they had so many accecories but did not want to drain thier starting battery. We installed an additional sealed lead acid in the back which supplied the gear and had had another cable with a diode to prevent back feed coming from the starter battery. Cheap easy and convient fix.

if you really want to change it...try looking for a hyundai starex van alternator, they have huge amp powers.
