Hi all, I just got a 2008 Lancer GTS fully loaded and with the sound and navigation package. I really like how it rides and the exhaust makes a special feeling when driving. The previous owner had some customization work done to the speakers and amps, he got rid of the whole stock speakers [Rockford Fosgate] and installed Alpine ones with a Pionner amp, now I am trying to make few changes and may revert some to its original condition.

First - I'd like to know if any of you know the model of the Fosgate amp and Sub it came with the original setting, I will need to get another amp to connect two extra 6x9 Kenwood plus the original subwoofer [he had another set of subs connected to a more powerfull amp - that he took out of the car before sellling it to me] and I need to find out the best power amp to feed them. In addition, I'd like to know what's the best recomendation as far as tweeters to replace the ones [already blown] on the door, I need to change the blown ones. Maybe the Fosgate P1T?

Second - His customization used the back channel on the navigation system/radio/player to feed the subs he had, now I am trying to revert to its original set, where the back channel will be dedicated to the back seat speakers, the new kenwood and the stock sub in the trunk. Does anyone knows the easiest way to reach the back of the nav system?

Third - The maps I have is dated back to 2005, is this latest? If not, may someone be kind enough to provide a link, so I could download the latest and greatest [US-Canada maps].

Fourth - Is there a way to import contacts to the nav and handsfree, via bluetooth? Either from a computer or a phone.

Thank you all in advance.

I can answer 3 and 4.....

3 - You cannot download an update to the navi, you have to buy an upgrade disc which comes with a version up key. Without the key you cannot update the navi. Cost is about $150-$175 to update the navi. I think it brings you up to 2007 maps, so it's still out of date. I dont have the navi, but most say it's not very good.

4 - You cannot transfer contacts via bluetooth or any other method to the handsfree system. You have to manually enter in all your contacts using the voice system.

I got an update from my dealer. For free! and indeed it's the 2007 software... My car is from 2008, so I sent an email asking for the next update.
I also got an update for te Gracenote audio database. It didn't do anything to the music info on the Music Server. Do I have to load the CD's again?

Question: Can I remove imported music from the music server? If so, how?
