I just recently purchased a 2004 Montero Sport. I was only given one key. How do I aquire a spare?

Ebay is your friend, I got mine there and the remote too. After you get it take them to the lock smith to get them programed, the key is like $15.00 brand new and the remote $10.00 used, good luck.

I have been reading that you need the two original keys to program a third key. is this correct, or, can I get a second key cut & then get it programmed?

Is there a DIY way to program a third key? I have 2 keys but want a third.

in your manual it tells u how too add a third key if u have 2 keys...

if u only have one then u have too have either the dealer or a locksmith that can do it
