On a 2001 Galant, I only have 2 side splash guards inside the fender wells. I have no front shields, but I can't find any confirmation that there should be. Should we have these? I can't get a dealer to confirm anything except the two side pieces, but the right side has a fastener hole that would suggest there should be more plastic shields under the front bumper. Just laying on the ground looking up towards the pulleys, it seems like way too much is exposed. My '02 Lancer is fully shielded across the front and sides underneath.

Any help, pictures, or parts links would be awesome.

When yu say splash shield that can apply to alot of things. Like the fender well splash shields on the fender to deflect large amounts of m,ud dirt frum the outer fender area. Now when yu are speaking of protective covers I have a picture up. Is is 8 or 9 in the photo to which yu are speaking? The side protective panels?

Hi, we actually do have both of the shields you refer to in place. What I'm wondering is if there should be shields that essentially join those two pieces by spanning across the front. I have linked the equivalent image for an '02 Lancer. Notice 5 and 6 on my image are the equivalent two you linked and are mounted vertically the same as the Galant. But a Lancer also has # 1, 2, 3 and 4 (and 7). Should the Galant also have these shields in place? They are oriented horizontally sort of like a skid plate under the front leading edge of the bumper.

If I'm not being clear, I can take a photo of my Lancer shields.

Thanks!

Well the photo i showed of is of the Galant we have here 1996-04 With a V6 non turbo (6A13 and 6G73 DOCH) In my photo 6 is the same as yur 7,3,4 , except its a smaller piece because of the under bumper hang and cross beam section. Which i am sure teh american models had the same undergaurds and panels as this model. The AWD and Turbo models altho had larger under shields that covered alot of section underneath to which looking underneath the car similar to teh Lancer. I think all the panels that come with it tho are the ones in my pic.

KiT TeUnG 2549, is illustration of American market Galant (6G72 3.0, 2972 cc engine) or foreign market? The 6G73 DOHC engine is a 2.5 liter V6. Each market may have different parts / set ups.
