Let me know what you thank and give me some ideas.
I recently bought new rims and winter tires, for the season ahead of us and had them put on, that’s all good, they look great and ride great. I drove around for the rest of the day when “SERVICE REQUIRED” along with the tire gauge light on the dash lit up the car.
After heading to the dealership to get things checked out,
It turns out that the factory tires have sensors in the value stems that relay the tire pressure to the car, well new tired and rims therefore no sensors,
Dealership says $600 for 4 stems with the sensors, and that there is no way to tell the car to not worry about the tires.
Has anyone else run into this issue, if so let me know what you did?

Also I was able to find another tread if there is one let me know

This is a known fact. You can either deal with the light, or get some sensors put on. Read through the forums and you will find a plethora of information.

I deal with the light during the winter During the summer though, I have sensors in those wheels.

tirerack.com appears to have the proper sensors for our cars. I think they are $148 US and you could take it to any tire shop to have them installed I imagine. Also, remember that the sensors may not work if you have steel winter wheels. I read that in a thread a while back, so I don't think the TPMS will work with steelies.

Good luck!

Do you think the investment in sensors is worth $600???
I drove without sensors for about 6 month now, service light gets annoying sometimes but so far it doesn't affect anything that much.
The budget replacement would be that tire pressure monitoring device sold at Canadian Tire if you would really like to know if your tire is almost out of air.

Buying a new set of sensors will not work as far as I know. The car's memory only has room for 5 signals, so it would require removing the memory of the original rims and replacing it with the new rim settings. Practically speaking, this can only be done at a dealership (unless you happen to own a specialized tool for it - a wand). Then you would have to do this every time you changed your set of tires. It's really a nuisance, but it is something you will have to live with, otherwise you will be forfeiting the cost-savings of buying winter rims and replacing them yourself.

yes ..if u searched this issue has been covered..
u can swap the sensors from the original rims..the sensor is the valve assembly..then they wouldnt need to be reset..
or u can buy new sensors for each set of rims..then yes the sensors need to be reset between rims..
