I have an 87 Montero 4WD 2.6 L 4 cylinder...as part of the air conditioning system, the vehicle has an auxiliary fan in front of the condensor. The wire to the fan motor is not connected to any power. I'm working with a Haynes Service Manual, which has a wiring diagram for the air con system and a chapter for the air con system, but neither indicate an auxiliary fan in front of the condensor. Can anyone tell me ....is the wire for the fan motor connected in some way to the power for the compressor or does it have a separate connector? Are they joined together or do they receive power separately?

As for i kno over here Pajero , Shogun Hikas and Larger Tritons of that time 82-88 Which did like all later models had a large auxillary condensor fan located in that area. Not sure if USA models Motero had them at all , but may have has sum the same wiring harnesses and fuse block.

I have a 1990 Montero with the fan. Won't lie mine hasn't worked in a year but I did do a double electric fan with full shroud replacing the belt driven fan. The double fan pulls more air than the belt driven fan ad condenser fan ever could have pulled so its not my biggest worry.

On mine the harness is a dual prong located next to the drivers headlight.
