On a 1.8 GDI (2001),

Can you alter the center consul so that it reads in mpg instead of litres per 100 kilometers?

Are the tappets hydraulic or can they be adjusted manualy?

I don't know about the tappets, but as for changing the fuel consumption display between gallon and litre units the Owner's Manual says it is done thus:

1. Press the "M" button (beneath the centre console LCD display) while pressing button "A" (the blank button on the left beneath the LCD display) to activate the display unit selection function. The currently selected unit will appear.

2. Use the "H" or "M" button to select the desired unit, then press the "SET" button to enter the setting.

H - km
M - mile
