Hi I'v recently bought an X reg Carisma.Really pleased with car but it has been fitted with a large bore " boy racer" exhaust, its very noisy and because im getting old 'ha ha' im thinking of changing it.
Will doing so affect the performance in any way?
Thanks Ian

Hi,

I'm probably not the best person to answer this but as nobody else has replied to you I thought I'd give you my input lol.

I can't see it making a difference really. These exhausts are not exactly adding masses of power to the car. Just mainly looks and noise. Putting a standard box on the back should return the sound to normal and leave the car running pretty much the same.

I would check to see that the previous owner has only replaced the back box though because it is possible he/she may have installed a centre section too. This might make a difference.

I'm not exactly an expert though so somebody may well come on here and correct anything I've said wrong.

Cheers!
