Hi everyone

I'm new to this forum, but I have just bought a '96 mitsi rvr with 95,000 k's on the clock.

It's started to dom some weird things with either the revs, timing or gear changing.

When driving up any sort of incline, and sitting at around 2,000 revs, the revs start to jump around within a range of between 1800 to 2100 revs. I don't know if this is because it doesn't know which gear to be in, or if the timing is messed up, of whether it is something way more serious. It got a little worse last night.

I don't know a heap about engines, but I'd really appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction before I take it to the mechanic and I am at his mercy.

Thanks :(

hey, i got no idea what it could be but it is not the timming because if it was the timing was wrong the engine would not start because of the piston might be coming up when a inlet valve is out and it would totally smash it. sorry i cant help you any more but you could try to ring up a mitsubshi dealer but it could be you cluth but if you took it to a garage they should be able to tell you what might be wrong because a car is a car they have practily all the same parts.
