Hi Guys
I am looking at a 1994 Paj Exceed 2.8.

It has apparently a small problem (well they say it is) - oil leaking into the turbo - which will be fixed prior to sale.

Question for you - is this a major or a minor - will it have damaged anything else in the motor?

It fits the bill in every other respect - nice low k's, sunroof, turbo, air con, power steering - nice all over silver.

What do you think - is this starting off with trouble that will escalate or is it just one of those little things that will be a seal or something?

Looking forward to your words of wisdom!

Cheers

Kim

the turbo has an oil feed to it to keep it running smoothly, if the return is clogged the oil will have to get out somewhere, so that could be the easiest problem if it hasn't been doing it too long (I think), the bearings could be worn out, which will let oil past them, which will mean a rebuild or new one (expensive) or the crankcase pressure could be up, due to worn rings, causing the breather pipe that goes into the air intake to carry oil to the turbo (probably not too good)

some one else may be able to comment but that's all I can think of...

thanks Trev
:57:
Took it for a test drive and it is detonating quite badly when it gets warmed up - it has only done 78,000 - but am a bit wary about spending the cash on something that has a couple of problems to start with.

This is the first one I have looked at - it was just what I wanted - but think I can probably find something without "issues"

I guess I will keep searching.

*sigh* :crying:
