Being the guinea pig again & trying out something new with the intake.

Part # 1505A265 is the air duct for the Ralliart. Cost $77.90 (part that attaches to the top of the grill when you open the hood & runs into the air box)

You would notice that the duct is much larger on the Palliart & the one for the regular Lancers is pretty restrictive.

Attached File  ralliartintake.jpg ( 4.4K ) Number of downloads: 159

Anyway I ordered that for my GTS to see if there will be any benefit with my K&N drop in. Not expecting much really...but it should help some.....

I also ordered some clips for it Part # MB938520...not sure what these are for, but someone on another forum said to order them with it soooooo...... Cost $2.90

I did a 2 day ship....so I should have it next week sometime. Said it takes like 2-? days to ship it out & then 2 days from there to get to me...

This is supposed to be a direct fir with no mod'n required.....so we'll see when it comes...I'll post pics & give my 2 cents worth.

Cool, I didn't realize it would fit the GTS. It's way better than the GTS intake duct. I always wondered why the GTS one had that extra piece that kinda sticks out to the right and seems to serve no purpose. The ralliart version is a much better design.

Here is a bigger & better picture of what the new intake duct looks like. Much bigger than the GTS's.

Looking forward to hearing more about this mod. I really like the K&N drop in and a less restrictive duct wouldn't hurt.

Oh SNAP. There is an Australian website selling a duct like that, they claim it's custom or something.
HA! Cause I was thinking about the inlet... a lot.

Let us know how it fits. I might end up getting that!
It should force a little bit more air into the chamber so it should do something.

NY-09GTS and I had a convo about this stuff a while back.
I'm thinking about making like a ram air type inlet utilizing the OEM snorkel. Pretty much sealing it off completely so the air doesn't blow on the hood but directly into the inlet. Then building a box around my Fujita SRI.

It's nice to know this OEM part is supposed to fit the regular Lancer. I'm f*ing excited now hehehe!

Ok maybe I should read $hit before I complain:

http://www.rpw.com.au/shop/index.php/compo...category_id=255

They say that the duct is from the Ralliart.... DUH!
Ok so there you go, it must fit good if they're selling it like that...

I've got one on my car and have for 3-4 months now along with a works filter. I like it. Initially it just gave it more sound and had a little bog in the midrange. But after the Works tune no bog and car runs great. Hard to say how much performance is from that mod alone but it makes sense and looks more factory. I also cut a hole in the plastic in front of it so it can pull some air up from the grill. I moved the horn to the left a little too and curved the rubber trim on the hood to aim air to the duct. Notice the '10 hood insulation while your at it.

Cool, looks like this will be the next thing I'm doing to the engine bay.

I'd consider switching to this to help blow air on the SRI filter better, but man why is it so expensive. $78, ouch. It's just plastic. If it was like $30 I'd do it.

OMG, a$$ wipes!.... $140.15 CAD for the inlet.
I can get the TWM short shifter for almost that much...CRAP.

I guess that's not worth it for me.

I have to talk to my neighbor who has a RA and see if he'll be changing his air intake. Maybe he would sell/give me the inlet. Ya that would be ideal... heh.

Well I got mine today & the install was a breeze. Pop the old one off from the air box....remove the 2 push screws on top of the grill & your done. Putting the new one on was equally simple.....pop it into the air box & use a zip tie to hold the front in place. I bought the 2 pop screws & of course they were the same that I had taken out which would be too short to reinstall.....

After a few romps...at 1st I did notice that around 4700-5K it kinda held the rev's there & then jumped up. Maybe that was the "bog" that you were referring to....but after jumping on it a few times I didn't have it anymore. It does seem to pull slightly better...but not enough for me to scream for everyone to get this HP marvel! It's better, but only slightly. Sound wise...just a slight (again) increase...but nothing like the Injen CAI I had on my 08.
I'll see how it does in the morning on my way to & from work. See if it affects mileage in any way. So far I like it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif)

STILL waiting to hear back from WORKS's guy about my tune...GGGRRRRRRRR!!!!!

Well so far so good. While driving around town you barely feel much....going down the expressway around 70ish....mashing the pedal, you get an added sense of urgency that wasn't there before. Me likey! More to come.....

Great to hear!

So who are the people selling this? Any links?

And rox where can we get it from locally? Was the $140 quoted to you by the dealership?

YIKES!!
I really wanted this mod since it's quite stealth and doesn't make the car sound like a Honda CRX.
Went to my local stealership with the part number 1505A265 the guy looked it up in the computer...
They want 295 that's equal to $360 for that piece of plastic duckt!!! Insane!
Even if someone made a high quality carbon fiber one using the rallyart as a mold it would probably not be as expensive as the original.

It was from Southside Mitsu. I don't think anybody else is selling this in the city.
Once I get that club going (and the website) my plan is to have a decent classifieds section for For Sale/Wanted/Trade items. That should help out with quite a few issues we all have finding parts. I'm sure someone in Edmonton is not using their RA inlet heh.

Any Mitsubishi dealership can order this for you. I paid $70 some dollars plus tax. the part shouldn't retail for more than $100.
