Hey guys I have a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse Gs-T and a guy with an srt4 wanted to race my car (My Dad was driving it at the time). So I told my dad to let him go. because i know for sure i would have gotten smoke badly. But to keep up with or even to beat it. What kind of modification should i need to do to the eclipse to be able to beat it by two car length if its possible.

Thanks Guys

I swore this was talked about before. You'll want to do your simple upgrades. i.e., intake, exhaust, MBC, BOV.
Make sure your car is in perfect working order before doing these upgrades.

Stock VS stock, the SRT4 will have you for breakfast sorry to say. They have 220HP to the wheels and 250 ib-its of torque.

dude the sr-t only have lil less than 1sec on the 0-60s over the gs-t... all you got to do (putting the car VS car) is mod your car right go to dsmtuners under techguide theres a list of 1st stage 2nd stage mods for the gs-t.... with the mods i have ill take that s-rt you raced any day.... the sr-t's only about 10hps more and thats only because they're newer!!! our gst's are 210 stock even stock as long as your a better driver..... you'd have a great chance.. have faith in your DSM

an srt-4 has 220 to the wheels. gs-t has 210 horsepower. theres a difference. Also theirs about 4 srt-4's in my area and all 4 of them are pushing in the area of 300-400 hp. Gotta think that your not racin a stock srt-4

And btw boostud its srt-4 not sr-t

like bryan said, the srt4 is putting 220-230hp to the ground(stock). you are only putting about 180-190hp to the ground(stock). 30whp is alot.

dont even try to say that you could take an stock srt4 with a stock gst. you have a modded gst. i know that you could spend about $100 on parts and your hp will be in the range of the srt4. but don't brag about beating a STOCK srt4 with your modded gst.

i have ridden in a slightly modded srt4(intake, no exhaust, new BOV). we raced an 02' GT eclipse(intake, headers, exhaust). we beat him by atleast 4 cars. and that was going easy through first and second gear b/c we were spinning so much.

considering that a stock gst will only beat a stock GT eclipse by about 1 car, you cant tell me that a stock gst and a stock srt4 is a drivers race.

Why do you all think the SRT-4's are fast? You're all saying that when my EVO8 was stock, that it had the same amount of power as the
SRT-4?
I dyno'd my EVO8 stock and had 238awhp and 231tq. It's published as having 271hp stock at the crank.
Are these the numbers you think the SRT-4 has to the crank?

dodge rated the srt4(in 2003) at 230hp. everybody assumed this was crank HP. but its not. its whp. GM has been doing the same thing for years. they deliberately underrate the cars.

Thats something i didn't know. That an evo8 will run the same wheel power as a srt-4. so basically it would be a close race between a srt and an evo. Lookin at a paper race. Wow
