hey there mitsi guys

Got me a L300, cleaning it up and have had ideas about powering it with a VR4 or and injected 4G63, something to make it more of a drivable Van.

and i was wondering if any of you guys cud suggest anything, or maybe a site that would lead me in the rite direction.

thanks JP

im looking at using the first of the vr4 motors (4cyl). its the 2wd (got to love sideways :P ). from what iv found out so far, it will bolt straight in, just the manifolds to play around with, and the wiring is straight forward. the only things im unsure on are: the sump? will it have to be custom? or will my standard one fit?, brakes? will i have to ungrade completly or will a good pad and fluid do the job? and the mounts, will my standard ones bolt straight to the VR4 engine?

thanks guys
JP

How are you guys going with the VR4 swap, i have done it in a triton but it would be a piece of cake in an L300. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/321988. ;)

hi again,

been a while since iv been on here.
progress report on the van....... moneys talking again, same old story, trying to save the mular for the job, but so far, its lowered, r33 skyline rims, sounds, and now brakes and diff are next on the list, upgrading the pads and fluid, and having discs machined, they a little warped. diff... im plaining on using a v6 triton diff, but am yet to find out on weather it will bolt into my housing. the engine swap itself is easy as, mounts bolt up, but there is a wide and narrow block available, cant member off hand which one is needed, basically its just a matter of spending the time making things work in the north south set up.

i see one of you have done a triton? how was that? easy?

thanks
JP

Triton was a bit difficult but a van would be really easy. no firewall to contend with! straight bolt in. no arse about turbo or anything. Go for it, if you need anything PM me and i will be glad to see an L300 sideways most of its life.

Probably close to the same looks that a guy I know gets. He stuffed a 4G63 into the Expo wagon. It's pretty quick and LOUD. Just a thought.

got another Q for you guys, had my rear diff seals **** them selves a while ago, got all new brakes etc done on the back, and now, the rear decides to follow the road camber when i hit the brakes, the rear just lock up, i was shown a little box where the brake lines go into just above the diff and was told its a bias of some sort and they get clogged up, but, cant find a manual to look at, need some opinions on what to do. thanks
Jp

update on conversion....... went to get a LSD sorted, but the bloody place has moved...... have to wait now

hi jp
that brake valve over the diff helps the rear brakes to work harder with a weight
in the back . i adjusted mine to work harder all the time .as the diff go's up and down it can operate causing the rear wheels to lock
