I have just brought a 1997 Mitsy Chariot, love the car, certainly a gorgeous machine, but cannot work the MMCS screen, its totally blank now, was going last week, but is totally blank now, all controls are in Japanese which I cannot understand, any answers would be greatly appreciated, also I have found a CD player under drivers seat with a navigation Cd in it, can I use that for anything :( ????

The touch screen you are refering to is the Mitsubishi Multi Communication System (MMCS). This screen will control the CD and tape player as well as a digital compass and GPS navagation system. Although it sound quite intellegent there is not a disk available for NZ (or anywhere outside Japan) and no english translation. I have been working on for some time but it doesn't look promising.

There are still some features you can use as long as you can get it started. I'm guessing that you have had the power disconnected at some time from the unit, probably the battery. Try disconnecting again for several minutes with the disk removed from the Sat/nav system under the seat. The screen should boot-up without the disk. If all going OK clean the disk and insert into player. You should get some indication onb the screen that this working. You may have to push a couple of buttons on the left of the screen to turn on but these will be in Japenese. After this you can play around with the touch screen to get all sorts of info. My kids figured out how to get into the compass which also indicates the number of satalites respomding and the outside air temp (in English).

Good luck, and let me know how you get on.

:00000732:

At least your MMCS had the CD still in it most of yours came without one and that makes it even more difficult to use.

I can help you out with some of the scrrens for the tape, radio and CD player if you need any.

Can I ask if it is possible to get a copy of the CD you have to try and get my unit running.

I would be happy to compensate you for expenses. :amen:

Hi Scaryanne
Does your radio play? If so, there is a way to turn the sceen on and off. On your radio, the top left button must be pressed and then the one next to it. Or the two together. Hope this helps.
