 How To Reset The Srs Light On Instrument Panel?

Anybody have the directions on how to reset the SRS light on hte instrument panel? I think I accidently unplugged it and now the light stays on.

You need somone with a scan tool that can pull srs codes to clear it. But if it is an 04 it is covered under warranty just tell them the srs light came on.

Disconnect the battery cable and reconnect. Sometimes it will fix it, if not it has to be cleared with a "mutt" from the dealer

you can ensure it resets when the battery is disconnected by popping you fuse cover under the hood and pulling the main ECU relay block waiting a few seconds and plugging it back in. This is also good when you move from a higher to lower elevation and vice versa, it causes the ECU to remap its air density parameters, changin the air/fuel ratio. :thumbsup:

Hi. I've the same problem when I installed a Harman Kardon Drive + Play iPod interface in my new Endeavor Limited 2006. I was looking at the list of fuses in the user guide and there is one that says 'Relay'. Is that the same one you are referring to as 'ECU Relay Block'? Thanks for the tip.

That's not good...I think you should have it checked out if the battery reset doesn't work...trust me, it WON'T just go away.

mine did the samething when i took the seats out to run the headrest monitor down my seats take it to the dealer shipp that have a computer to take the code away only way it should be warrenty take 5 min they did mine for free

so, you're driving a brand new car around for 6 months with a potentially inoperative airbag?


why in the world would ANYONE do something like that?
