Is it possible to put a factory alarm in a 2000 montero into a VALET mode? If so how would you take it out of valet mode. My factory alarm will not arm. I removed all the door pins and it does the same thing. Also the doors will not lock while the car is running, they lock but immeadiately unlock again. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The locks not locking while the truck is running is normal so you dont lock the keys inside. As for the alarm how do you know you have an alarm? What is on the remote?

The remote has lock, unlock and panic. The vehicle definitely has a factory alarm.

FYI: Me and the OP both made threads about the same vehicle. It was kind of funny because neither of us knew the other was posting.

Please help us.

It also has the security led light to the lower left of the steering wheel.
