:( I just purchased a new Eclipse GS last Wednesday and love it to death, except for the Rockford Fosgate® audio system cd changer. After playing it for a while without problems and inserting mp3 cd's that I created and playing them I tried to eject one of the cd's. Low and behold when the unit trys to eject the cd I hear a bunch of clicking noises and then get an error message on the lcd screen. I then look at the owners manual and there is no manual way to eject the cd's from this unit, you will need to take the car into the dealer to have them take care of the problem. I took the car in this morning to see if they can get the cd changer working and they tell me that they had to order another cd changer unit to replace the one in my dash and I asked how do I get the cd's that are stuck in the unit and they tell me that the manufacture of the cd unit will have to get them out and send them to the dealer. This might be a big problem in the future because of this being a new sound system and if I had the problem this quick I think that others will also. I used to have in another car a 6 cd changer that used cartridges and at least those would not get stuck. Now the waiting to see how long it will take Mitsubishi to get the replacement in. I work right next door to Mitsubishi headquarters in Cypress, Ca and am thinking of going over to them and explain the situation if it takes too long for the replacement. I wish that there was a manual way to eject the cd's because I will hate to have to take it to the dealer if it happens quite often.

Just an opinion.

BTW: I drove to San Diego last Saturday and averaged 25mpg on the drive.

Thats what happens when you got a good thing going. Mitsu has been using Infinity changers with very little problems. But since switching to fosgate there has been many problems.

I have had the same problem with my Rockford Fosgate CD changer on my 2005 Eclipse . It jammed the first time and had to be replaced. It just jammed again and pieces came out when I pulled out the CD's. The front cover of the CD changer snaps of easily without tools. Just get your fingers under the trim panel below the CD and above the heater controls and pull out. I was able to get the CD's out but the spring clips inside the changer came out with the CDs. This is the same thing that happened last time. I was expecting to see alot of complaints about this. I may have to do with the fact they are homemade CDs. Sometimes I will be playing a homemade CD and it will just stop playing. It usually happens after a while playing, like it gets too hot inside the cd player and it screws up. If i can eject the cd and put in a store bought cd it plays OK.
