Can anybody help me with this problem. Before I go drop money in a mechanic can anyone tell me where the thermostat is? I just got my 3000gt and I don't want to screw it up. I've only changed oil and brakes and thats the extent of working on my car. I also notice that when my car is first warming up and I get into open space it heats way up and the lights flicker. I'm pretty sure this is elec. But not 100% PLEASE HELP.

thermostat is by where you fill the colant for the engine. you'll see the cap. recommend some sort of manual, like the CD one if your gonna dive into your car.

Also, there is four bolts (two on each bracket) holding two brackets(one on each side) that mount the radiator on the top. take those bolts out, CAREFULLY push the radiator back a bit at an angle, and see if there is a buch of crap plugging the radiator. vacuum it out with a shop vac carefully, dont' bend the fins. I dropped 10* C by just cleaning the crap out of my radiator.

Also, and I hate to be the one to point at this, but when was the last time your water pump was changed. it needs to be done every 60k, along with the timing belt, and tensioner. that may also be your problem. probably expensive.
