wasup guys,

my 2000 eclipse gt has a problem. when i turn on the car and leave it on it starts making a loud rattling noise! so when i have the car in neutral and i step on the clutch all the way in the noise goes away, but when i let go of the clutch it starts making it again!!! any thoughts on what it can be guys?

most likely, its the throw out bearing. good luck getting the sound to go away. its a common problem on most manual 3Gs. mine does it but its not too loud. some people have replaced the clutch and the TOB and the sound went away. some have replaced both and the sound was still there.

this morning when i turned on the car i couldnt hear the noise so i guess it only does it sometimes!! im still thinking about replacing my clutch because its slipping!!!!!well my only concern is that in a couple of days i have to drive for about 2hrs to da airport and i just want to know if that is dangerous?

no its not dangerous. its more of an annoyance than a problem(the TOB that is)
