If it's a (super) sports gear then don't, the suspension is fine.
I thought the suspension was rubbish on my rvr too until I tried 17" wheels with low profile tyres and it started handling like a Lancer Evo, and that's no joke!
The standard tyres have too large a profile and compress in the corners resulting in roll and rubbish handling. Using good quality low profile tyres with larger wheels solves that problem and allows the suspension to do its work.
I've tried 235/45 r17 tyres on mine and it handles like a dream. I'd recommend 225/50 r17 tyres though as their rolling radius is closer to the originals (though there's hardly any difference with either of them).
A word of warning, make sure you get wheels with the correct offsets. I bought a set of 17" wheels off of a Lancer Evo, had them fitted, and wasted loads of money getting various people to try and get the tracking correct. It turned out in the end that the offsets were wrong. Now I've got a pile of wheels in my garden that I can't use and am in search of a set that I can.
