I have a 99 spyder eclipse GST. I was wondering what types of cheap upgrades i can give it. I know there are many things i can and can't do with the turbo in it. so i would like some advice as to what i should put in my car.
thanks hockeyz15

This is one of those times were I'd say research it. But I like your username. I'm a huge hockey fan/player.

EBC/MBC, intake/ehaust, set of gauges and fuel pump. Injectors are questionable.

I was looking into a cold air intake but all the ones i look at say non-turbo, but then i found an adapter for the turbo model so i can put a cold-air intake on. will that work? i also found a short ram air intake that will work with the GST. what would be and overall better fit for the car? (price, easy to work with, ect.)
ooo and do i need any special type of blow-off valve?

Any time you "upgrade" from stock or nothing, don't you think it's considered and "upgrade?" I thought so too!!!

I would personally go with the short ram air and get a heat shield for it, but that is because I would be worried about getting water in my intake when it rains. Also, the ram air should fit better. If you are going to keep moding your car it would be a good idea to a BOV. I hear the Greddy type S is the best but is kind of pricy, I think it is around 230-250 on ebay. That is my 0.02

I also was wondering if something is wrong with my car, when i first bought it the clutch was goin out and the speedometer didn't work, I got the speedometer working about 4days after i got it with some new parts. then the clutch went out about 2weeks after i had bought it, now i got that fixed and it was working fine for about 2 weeks and then the speedometer broke again. I have been driving it for about 2 weeks with the speedometer goin in and out. well then the other day the clutch pedel broke, when i pushed in the clutch it just droped to the floor and wouldn't come back up. so my question is there any connection between the two and does this mean that it could lead to further, more expensive problems? thanks

if you want the cold air intake i would say get that instead of the short ram dont worry about sucking up water they make these things called AIR BYPASS VALVES for cold air intake work like a charm easy to install on the CAI too
