ok, keeping in mind that aside from driving and changing tires, I've not really done much else under the hood of a car....so, I was wondering, how hard is it to install a cai? I was thinking of getting the AEM V2 cai and wanted to save by installing myself...is it hard? Any special tools or anything needed?

Thanks!

dont get the V2 unless you can get a hell of a deal on it. most retailers will charge close to $300 for it. if you can get it for around $200, then get it. if not, just go with the regular AEM, Injen, or K&N.

the install is probably the simplest install you will ever do(if you have smaller hands). you will need a 10mm wrench and a flat headed screwdriver. i think thats all you will need. just pop your hood and look around. you will see what you have to do.

Are you sold on getting CAI? Or would you prefer the short ram?

yea, I like CAI; I had an AEM on my 03 Civic and I could feel the power increase and I also saw a great increase in gas mileage, but I had it installed at the dealer.

and I found some decent prices online.....does anyone know of any better?

AEM

Thanks!

b/c...

1.) sometimes the intake isnt even made for the eclipse. its fitment is so far off that you will have to modify it to make it work.
3.) sometimes you dont even get all the parts you need.
4.) the intake pipes are smaller
5.) the intake pipes are made out of cheap materials.

I was researching on the Injen website and it was not clear what it fit (Spyder, AT, MT, etc.) so I emailed them and a tech replied that it doesn't fit the Spyder. I don't understand it either, but I hate to order something from the internet and it doesn't fit or whatever, then it becomes a big hassle....

i could see where it would fit a MT and not an AT(you will need to look at that if you go with AEM), but the spyder, i just dont understand that.
