I use one by Rocky Mountain Radar, model RMR-DLS312. It's a radar/laser detector with a laser scrambler.

It's not illegal here so I usually mount it on the windshield below the rearview. I am trying to see if I can find a way to mount it above the clock.

They aren't illegal here either so I just have it on the visor. If my suction cups would still work I would have it on the windshield centered about 3" up. I too would mount it above the clock with velcro but don't want to have an ugly piece of velcro there when detector is gone.

The model I have is a Passport. It is relatively old and only has X/K band if I remember right. I don't use it much anymore as ND has the speed limits up to 75 interstate so I don't really need it as I usually drive between 75/80.

I use a Whistler,....I know,..don't laugh,...but you know what,.. it works like a charm! I mount it on the windshield towards the lower part right in the center,...but it not illegal here in Texas.

QUOTE
Whistler's high end models now offer Improved Performance. These new models (1758, 1773, 1783, 1793, and the Pro-Series) not only offer better range than the models they replace but they also detect the newest police radar guns with POPTM mode!

I have the 1773 model and it does the job.....I drive allot of open highway here in Texas on 1604.
