I guess to get all the fluid out you have to pull the Torque Converter out,or find a shop with a machine to "vacuum" it out? I have an automatic,& I think the harmonic balancer retains about 6 quarts or so?

Yes, you need to bring it somewhere to have all the fluid properly drained, including dropping the pan and changing the filter. Most techs have a trans flush tool that does a COMPLETE flush of the trans.

Do you mean torque convertor? The best way for full fluid transfer is a flush machine however I do not recommend installing synthetic fluid in a automatic mitsu trans. Mitsu transmissions are very sensitive to types of fluid and can cause numerous problems. The manual transmissions however repond well to synthetic.

THAT'S IT...I couldn't remember the name of the machine...

Anywho...yeah I think he means the torque converter...and yes, it holds quite a bit of fluid depending on the type of car.

:P I thought that was funny because if you are getting trans fluid anywhere near the harmonic balancer you have got serious problems to fix 1st.

The harmonic balancer is also known as the crank pulley on the front of the engine. The torque convertor is on the front of the trans and bolts to the flywheel.

Yeah...the torque converter is what changes your engines power into usable power for your transmission. The harmonic balancer is what balances out your crank revolutions.
