i just did some prototype work with K&N engineering. They just finished my car and are looking for some more to test it on. One good thing is that the were able to get about 10hp (didn't give the exact numbers because of product security). they will not be using a short cai that converts into a complete kit this time around from what i hear. It made my car stall = to much air at the MAS. I probably will be getting a free one sooner than any of you  , but you should be able to get on in about 6-10 weeks. They also did some r&d on the filter so that's available now.

K@N's drop in filter for the 2006 3.8 is out on the market now. I just saw one on www.truckperformance.com for $38.35.

it is also available for the 4 cyl. I would wait to get the cai because you will only get a few more miles per gallon with the drop in. Usually for the drop in filters you only get one or two additional ponies.

What are they planning on doing about the vac activated air door that opens on the air box?

How could a CAI provide too much air through the MAS? The engine will only take in as much air as it needs. I doubt that a new intake would be so unrestricted that it would cause an engine to stall.

Anyway, anyone know when that vac door opens on the air box? I should try to keep it open and see how it works.

I just added a K&N drop in filter and it was a big defferent from the the stock filter which looks like a pillow, more power you can feel, I then replaced the stock muffler with a Drag-R proX performance Exhaust, major improvement. this car will not need much. check Me out.

In the shop manual, it says that door opens at 4000rpm, it is there to keep intake noise down while driving. This thing also has two resonators on it, one on the intake pipe, another on the bottom of the air box. I took of the one on the intake pipe. I am suprised a drop in k&n would make much difference. Do you have the ability to take a sound clip from your exhaust? I was listening to the magnaflow system on their website, and wondered how yours sounds.

jacksontw60 ...Who did you order your springs from? Did they give you a shipping date? When I spoke with Eibach mid last week they still didnt have an availability date.
They were guessing last week of September possibly.
