first thing is air intake, you can get a testpipe for pretty cheap (unless you have emissions there), those two will give you a noticeable difference for under or about $50 ifyou do them yourself, also, make sure you have good oil, if you ask anyone who knows about cars, good oil will actually make your car go faster, possibly 2-4 tenths faster in the 1/4 mile, if the old oil is dirty, anyways, make sure you have good plugs and wires, I have a turbo, basic mods, close to 400hp, and i'm on the stock wires and cheap plugs, I have no problems with them yet, but I will be upgrading soon.......

Your car has stock ground wires. They can be seen going from the TB to the chassis and such. This is to help reduce interference cause by static electricity and such.. The kit add more of these ground points.. From what I have hear they are not bad, especially on bigger engines... I don't have one but if I keep my car I am gonna be getting one...

buy the stuff you need off an existing twin turbo. other than that there is not much out there for turbo kits...

I agree with the intake (make a cold air wall to block heat) and test pipe options. also a shift kit if you have an auto. (which I assume you do as you were asking for a TCM.) Also do a basic tune up before you start modding. also maybe a light weight crank pulley...

also inspect the under carriage for any rust/surface rust/bare metal and fix it before it becomes a problem

I got a 98 SL, and just got the ground wire kit, but I cant find instructions anywhere. I should have got the Big Tyla one, but I got the Ralliart one off ebay. Know any good sites for ground locations?

Thanks
