Should I worry , my brand new Endeavor is running super .

Today , friday ,I checked my oil level by curiosity , well the level indicates at the first hole : low
I had many other new cars but never experience that .

Is it normal for 5000kms / 3500 miles ? Is it a normal breaking in habit for a Mitsu ?

I will check with my dealer monday , I would like not to worry all week-end long .

Thanks .

It may have never been checked at the dealer during the predelivery inspection. Many times mitsu ships cars to the dealers low on oil from assembly. The tire pressure, and all the fluid levels are supposed to be checked at the dealer but as any business some employees dont always do their jobs correctly.

I did check the oil level at the delivery , it was perfectly full. I had an new Outlander from december 2004 to july 2005 and never had this oil ''problem''. I changed for an Endeavor because I found the car too small for my needs.

Monday coming I will have the response from my dealer , I wish Mitsu have a site or an email to ask such question , but all questions have to pass by the dealer .

So I checked with my dealer's tech , on the phone he found this lost unusual but not totally anormal . He told me to wait untill 6000 kms so to see if the lost goes on.

Stangest thing today , I re-checked my level : short just below the second hole =1/4 quart of a liter , good good.

Could be that I was not really at level place , altough it is not the first time I checked an oil level in my life ?? Anyway , I feel better now .
