Hi folks

my wife is taking delivery of a 2003 Space Star 1.9DI-D Mirage, it has a radio/ cassette stereo which is integrated into the multi function display pod, i want to either add a CD changer (which i dont think is possible...) or replace the OEM head unit, which should be easy enough with the correct wiring harness adaptor - but heres the problem - the OEM head unit controls the display function of the MPG, trip, av speed etc

..... so is there a way to replace the OEM head unit and retain the display functions???

thanks in advance

Hi!

I was thinking about doing the same to my car... I've searched alot including the workshop manual which has all pinouts of the plugs... I realized that its a bit difficult to replace the head unit without sacrificing the display commands, as the "DISP" button is not only a switch... The head unit "reads" the information from the ECU and sends it to the display. <_<

As for the CD Changer, my car came with this head unit that has CD player and it is prepared for taking a Cd changer, have you checked the back of your Head Unit for a female round connector?

By the way, have you considered adding a second head unit, installing it on the compartment under the Heat controls?

Hope I helped...
