Hi Guys,

Quick question. The fuel guage in my 1988 L300 Express doesnt seem to work correctly.

It shows full when I fill it up and then goes to empty waaay too quickly - like in around 30 or 40 kms it drops to empty, so I have to guess when to fill up again. Does anyone know how to correct this problem?

While I am on the topic of fuel I also seem to be getting about 260km to a full tank - does this seem bad to you guys? It is a camper van and has a 2litre motor.

Thanks for your help.

Regards,
Paul.

Hey thanks for the advice. I got the sender unit fixed and now that part of the problem is all fixed up.

It turns out that the carby is the main problem with the fuel efficiency. Apparently it needs a rebuild...

Does anyone know if this is worth having done, or am i better off buying one that has already been rebuilt... and what prices do you think I should expect?

I am currently living in Brisbane Australia, but am driving down to Melbourne in the next week or so - so I have the choice of fixing it in either place.

Thanks for your help :)
