Hey everyone. My attempts to install an Infinity Sound System from a 04 Ralliart, in my ES have come to a hault.

I'm trying to find the 18-pin, white connector that connects to the amp. Right now my only option is to purchase the entire instrument panel wiring harness for $880, like that's going to happen.

So if anyone out there has a source, or has the stock Infinity Sound System and is looking to upgrade their stereo with aftermarket components. Please let me know.

Thanks for your help.

Well, Infinity was no help. They told me what I figured they would. "We cannot help you, the connector is only available from the OEM (Mitsubishi) because it is proprietary". Well, Mitsubishi cannot get me the connector.

So, after some long and hard searching and luck, I'm pretty sure I found the connector. I was searching the Scosche website because I had nothing to lose and I stumbled on the connector, it's the reverse wiring harness adapter for a 1999 and up, Daewoo (item #DO01RB).

How funny is that. $10 total (part and shipping).

So, I should have the Infinity Sound System running next week.

The entire system cost me $100: amp, sub, head unit, wiring harness. I'll probably upgrade my speakers, so there's another $50-70 for a set of decent 6 1/4" speakers. I found some decent Polks in a salvaged vehicle (cost me a whole $10 for the set).

To me, this option was better than trying to do a whole aftermarket system. Most people will disagree, and that's their right. To me, the stock ES stereo system was the best I've heard in a low end car. With a 315W system and sub, it should be pretty decent. I'd rather invest my money in performance.

Well, All I know is that the Factory Lancer with Infinity Amp pushes about 315W total. I don't know if the Eclipse is the same.

If you end up putting an aftermarket system in, you'll probably be better off running all new power wires (to the stereo and amp). There are connections out there to interface with a factory amp, but I don't how well they actually work.

Good luck.
