Well, Infinity was no help. They told me what I figured they would. "We cannot help you, the connector is only available from the OEM (Mitsubishi) because it is proprietary". Well, Mitsubishi cannot get me the connector.
So, after some long and hard searching and luck, I'm pretty sure I found the connector. I was searching the Scosche website because I had nothing to lose and I stumbled on the connector, it's the reverse wiring harness adapter for a 1999 and up, Daewoo (item #DO01RB).
How funny is that. $10 total (part and shipping).
So, I should have the Infinity Sound System running next week.
The entire system cost me $100: amp, sub, head unit, wiring harness. I'll probably upgrade my speakers, so there's another $50-70 for a set of decent 6 1/4" speakers. I found some decent Polks in a salvaged vehicle (cost me a whole $10 for the set).
To me, this option was better than trying to do a whole aftermarket system. Most people will disagree, and that's their right. To me, the stock ES stereo system was the best I've heard in a low end car. With a 315W system and sub, it should be pretty decent. I'd rather invest my money in performance.
