Well, my son has had his car for about two months. for one month it's been parked. We can't figure out why it keeps shutting down when he turns on the a/c.
Then one day, on his way home, his car shut down from turnning on his headlights.
I checked fusses and relays, none are burnt. We are just lost. Can you help?

I've heard that the FTO can get itself into a similar state at times (particularly if the battery has gone flat). Can be cured by disconnecting the battery for over 1/2 hour (to reset the ECU, the longer the better I suppose) then when you reconnect the battery and start the car ensure that there are no services running (e.g. air con, lights, radio, wipers etc) for about 10 mins of driving. Works on an FTO so may work on an Eclipse, doesn't cost anything to try.

Hope this helps, if not then best of luck tracking the problem down.

Ade.
