hey, im in melbourne australia and lancer is what we call the mitsubishi with the 4g15 engine in it. it is a 1.5L 12valve SOHC engine with MPI EFI.

now, i was wondering if anyone has or has seen this engine turbocharged or supercharged. also what needs to be done in order for it to run efficiently and with out blowing up or falling to pieces.
i currently have the basic mods required to do either.

custom cold air intake + air filter and shield
engine breather through PCV valve
iridium spark plugs
rising rate fuel pressure regulator @40PSI in idle
full 2' exhaust
racing clutch
upgraded brakes
the rest wouldnt be required for turbo or superchargers...

need adjustable chip, what else????????
i dont wanna be spending big bucks on port and polishes or cams or forged pistons, etc... (no internal work if possible)

Why don't ye just get the engine out of a crashed lancer with a 1.8 GSR turbo engine in it and swap it for yours..... some amount of tork out of it with the GSR engine.

Yes it can be done Champ...
Theres a few options Check out:
users.tpg.com.au/raptosc/
They deal with supercharging only. The 4g15 they have done has turned approximately 110kw.
Or for the turbo option,
Try www.rpw.com.au
Specialists in mitsu's all different types of kits available and a great amount of knowledge. Hope this helps. Caution though don't boost it to much, as the conrods let go very easily.

Also sorry Leesa but that engine is very hard to get in Australia.

The best thing to do is get an evo engine from a evo 4, 5 or 6. evo 1, 2, 3 and vr4s will not fit into ur car.
