Hey folks,

Just found the site this evening, and thought I'd take the chance to ask some questions if I may..

- I have a 1999 automatic Mitsubishi Mirage import from Japan, and it'll be due its first service soon, so can anyone recommend a good (but reasonable) garage in the Dublin area that I can take it into?

- What's the story with parts? Easy enough to get, or are they interchangeable with Irish Colts?

- I only got one key with it (built in central locking button) and would like to get a spare - just in case! The alarm system (un)locks the doors anyway so can I just get a standard key for it, or does it have to have whatever electronics are in the original?

Thanks in advance for any advice! :)

Is it a 1.3?then parts are identical to irish colts
They key will cost you an enormous amount of money,i take it its a factory alarm?it may even work out cheaper to have an aftermarket alarm fitted!

Yep it's a 1.3 so that's reassuring to hear - was a bit worried about getting replacements if anything went wrong :)

It's an aftermarket alarm that was fitted after I bought it. The key itself just does the central locking, but the remote for the alarm does both - does this make a difference then?

(sorry for the newbie questions :))

Yea its better that way. When i had a nissan primera and needed a new key it cost 40 euro and they wanted another 110 to program it(main dealer)!!!!!Found a link on a nissan club website with the details of how to do it and it only took me 5 minuites!!!

if you know what make of alarm it is find someone near you that fits them and they should be able to get another fob for your car.

Can I just get a standard key cut then, or are there electronics beyond the central locking in there?
