Just curious. I have 51 yrs of experience on this planet :) and based on post that I have read it appears that I am probably one of the oldest owners by far! :)
Does anyone know Mitsu target market for the 06 Eclipse?

I would guess that the target market for the '06 eclipse would be 18 to 35. something to attract the younger buyers while still appealing to the older buyers.

the 4g eclipse is marketed towards an older crowd. they no longer portray teenage girls dancing to techno music (the 3g eclipse). Also, the style of the car is similar to the 2g in that it has smoother curves. I think they are trying to win back all of those 2g owners that were jilted by the 3g's pontiac raped styling. btw i am 27

The 4G also works very well for a guy with a modified '02 Z06 and an '05 Viper but prefers not to leave either in an unpaved parking lot 11 hrs a day while at the office. The 4G makes a great dailey driver or beater as I fondly call it. I dont use the term fast for any street car thats not running a sub 12 sec. 1/4s

The 4G is a great ride with outstanding looks and its much more enjoyable to drive in the morning traffic and beating around town.

Yes I would consider an SRT-10 quick with a good driver! I have seen inexperienced guys at the track in Vipers run low 14s and seen others bounce off the walls.
I have driven dozens of other owners cars during club track days because they swore something was wrong with there cars. There wasnt!

I have a lot of respect for the LS1 motor WS6. I campaigned a modified f-body for 6 NHRA seasons. One of the best bang for the buck drag suited cars that was ever manufactured. Hated to see them go!

Cllamont... a midlife crisis is what guys younger than your drivers license call you when you choose the same car they do. Wouldnt want us midlife crisis guys taking the cool away from the 4G...

I turned 54 in August. I saw the Eclipse, like the body style and got it. My other car is a 1985 Pontiac Fiero with a 4.9L caddy.

Flyntus...I knew I couldnt be the only one crazy enough to do that to a Fiero. I bought an '85 Fiero, reworked the car completely, bought all the V8 Archie components to do the mating and built a 4 bolt main 350 small block. I used the 400hp build from an Issue of Hot Rod Magazine. One very quick short legged car. There werent any options for the gears when I didnt he build in '90. Sold the car to a company that did kit car conversions. The put a Lambo Coutach body kit on it and sold it for $38k. The buyer must have been on the pipe! LOL
