My first post. I have recently aquired a 2003 spyder GT with the infiniti sound system. I am trying to install an amp and sub but cannot figure out which color the power wire for the antenna is to connect the remote lead from the amp to. I ran the wire from the trunk to the front took the head unit out and connot figure this out. Please help. Can I just hook the remote lead up to the antenna's ground wire in the trunk? I know the standard color is blue or blue and white but the infinity head unit does not have either. Also I need to use speaker level inputs so should I hook them up to the wire before or after the factory amp?

I'm gonna use the red wire coming from the smaller harness on the head unit. I think that is the accessory wire... That should work... Wish me luck!

For anyone who cares or wants an answer to this question, the red wire did not work, nor the white one. After trying the 2, I gave up. I wired the remote directly to the battery and put a toggle switch in line. If you do this make sure you put an in-line fuse about 6 - 10 inches from thebattery and don't forget to turn the amp off or it will drain your battery. If anyone can tell me how to hook the amp up so it turns on and off with the car please let me know. I will curse everyone who doesn't tell me the first time I get to my car and it won't start cuz I left the amp on.

I can't get to the wires without taking the carpeting up to see what color they are, but I might just pull the seat out and see if I can see, cuz I left the amp on last night. Somehow the car staerted this morning with no probs. I can bet that the factory amps hookups are not marked though. I'll keep ya all updated. The box sounds great anyhow. I got an alpine type E 12", a ported box, and a 250 watt rms 750 max alpine amp. It's louder than I thought it would be! I tried testing both red and white with a volt meter and they both have power when the car is on but they will not start the amp... I'm confused... This car audio thing is not my bag, I build computers.

Hey man...Im doin the exact same thing as you...I have found that if you just put the rremote wire in one of the empty fuse slots and pinch it in there with a twenty watt fuse that will work fine..the amp will turn on and off when the car turns on and off..It works flawlessy so far for me...can you tell me how you got the RCA cable hooked up to the factory head unit?? i cant figure that out...and do you know what the colors of the speaker wire are coming out of the factory amp??? Later dude....
if you could e-mail me a response at usa_hockey_17@hotmail.com
That would be really awesome!

Hey guys, maybe this will help. Attached are the factory wiring diagrams for a 04 Lancer, with the Infinity stereo, amp and sub.

Enjoy,

Mike
