chrysler and mitsu were working together for a long time.

look at diamond star motors. eclipse, talon, and laser.

My dodge stealth is a 3000GT with a bit of cosmetic surgery done to it.

if you raced the v6 sebring, then yes it has the same engine as the 3G GT.

3G GT, stratus R/T, and sebring LXi all have the same engine. ****, they are the exact same car with different bodies.

if you get a chance to look at an R/T or LXi, take a look at the interior. they are all pretty much the same

well color me suprised. I did not know that they had the same interiors. in fact I am going to have to check this out.

As much as I want it to be true (easy replacement parts for interior) I'm just not sure. Thanks for the tip!

so that explains why some guy in a 2001-ish stratus r/t tried to race me on the highway once... i never realized those things were actually considered "sporty" so i thought the guy had simply lost his mind when he kept revving on side me at 85 mph..... lol oh well.. i showed him what 300 horsies can do in a DSM anyways just cuz im a nice guy....

AH!

ok. yeah, that's not the same interior as a 3G GT.

So that has a dohc 6g72 in it? or is it the sohc 6g72? what's the hp rating from the factory?

Why does it have so many gauges?

DUDE! don't u know?? Gauges add serious horsepower man! like 15 bhp for a oil temp gauge.. but the best are the big freaking tach's with the shift lights. those add like 40bhp :460:

it is the same interior except for the radio. the same dash layout, vent layout, pedal layout, door panel layout, and seats. it has the same SOHC 6G72 thats in the 3G GT eclipse. hp rating is 200hp same as the GT eclipse.

just so you know, those gauges are boost, oil, and EGT gauges. what are the switches for? his nitrous setup.

the guy is running a stage 3 RIPP SDS(about 20psi) w/nitrous on a fully-built engine that is pushing over 400whp(which is awesome for a 3G eclipse). ive seen his car in person and its awesome.

a little info on his car.

Engine:
RIPP 9.2:1 standard bore pistons
Cryo frozen, shot peened, balanced Stock Connecting Rods
ARP bolts
Clevite racing bearings
Fully balanced rotating assembly

Fully built heads
Full custom race port and polish
Ferrea stainless valves 1mm oversized
Titanium retainers
Double valve springs, custom buckets

the sad part is, hes selling his car and buying a viper. hes parting out everything on the car.

AH HA HA HA HA.

sorry. I misread. I thought when you said 3G GT you were talking 3000gt. HA.
read > me.

selling that car for a viper is not a bad thing. that is a good thing. he is going to a meaner nastier animal. viper with turbos = 8 second street car. you will not do that with an eclipse unless you have two spare jet engines. and with the price of gas now-a-days no one could afford that.

and with all he's got done to that car I would hope that it makes more than 400 hp. sorry, but that's a lot of stuff for just 400 hp.

turbos, injectors, and fuel pump puts me well over 400 hp. I haven't even touched the internals or ported anything on my car yet. and I'm only running 18 lbs.

go DOHC 6g72.

**** man, i can do 500 out of my car without touching the inside of the engine.. in fact a buddy has done 485bhp AWD with bolt-on mod's only and a **** good tuning job
Go DOHC 4G63T

and neither of you guys have worked on a 3G eclipse/stratus before. the 3G was never meant to see boost. thats why its so hard to get power out of the car. the engines were never meant to see boost. the MAS was never meant to see boost. the ecu was never meant to tune boost. a complete engine build on a GT eclipse/stratus r/t will get you about 50whp, thats it.

so pushing over 400whp in an eclipse is alot to brag about. 400whp in a 3G is like 800whp in a DSM....it doesn't happen very often.

i would have never traded that car for a viper(even though ive wanted a viper since i saw one in '97). How many 500whp vipers are there in the country? just about every viper, right? now how many 400whp 3G/stratus are there in the country? i can count them on one hand.
