I have a 99 Carisma, and have some alloy wheels.

7 x 17 offset et42, will these fit on the car?

I have been told they will but will they rub ? If so back or front as well? Do 17's rub when the steering is at full lock in a carisma?

I tried to fit them but there is the head of a nut sticking out of the hub assembly, which needs to be removed to allow the wheels to sit flush on the hub. I'm going to do this, but i want to be sure they'll fit before i mess with the hubs.

Any help appreciated.

I'm not doing it, my mechanic is going to either remove it or replace it with something which will allow the wheels to go on. :offtopic:

So, if anyone has 17's on their carisma let me know

I've got 18's (215/35) on mine, (it's a 98 GDI model) they rub a bit on full lock, but only on the plastic inner arches, which I'm going to remove this weekend. Not sure about the offset though. Didn't have any problem with nuts on the hub. On the back wheels the top of the arch rubs going over speed bumps with a few passengers in the back. Planning on geting all four arches flared and getting a set of KW coilovers to give it a 35mm drop,

Thanks for your reply. I'm putting them on, on wednesday. From the sounds of it, they should fit ok although the arches may have to be rolled at some point.
