You cant really compare the two, their both good at very different things but youll end up happier with an evo,The m3 is too soft, comfy seats and sound insulation pah...!!!!It may be quick but you dont notice it as much, its too refiend
The evo is raw power and grunt!

I would get the M3, driven both, loved both, but the Evo is too Mitsu (don't get me wrong, I like Mitsu, but after a while the lack of quality and resale gets me). Only downfall of any Bimmer - parts prices...

For me, the interior on the EVO is exactly as the critics say....kind of cheesy and low grade. The EVO is purpose built....that's it. Also factor in that if you go on long trips and like cruise control, you won't find it in the EVO....or a very comfy ride from what I have heard- though better than the STi. I have no practical knowledge of the bimmer excepth the fact that it has scheduled maintenance and parts for 4/50,000. I would say why not check out the S4?

OK...the ride in the M3 is very nice...unless it's the competition edition. But, when you are lookin to buy one of these two, who cares? The M3 has more power, leather, nicer stereo, better brakes, etc. Yeah, it's $20K more, but it's worth it.

Evo will romp all day at the track with little $$$$ in upgrades depending on the year M3. The BMW is gorgeous, higher quality, and you'll have to keep the windows up to keep random girls from jumping in (some pull this with DSM's as well  ). How much money are you looking to spend becasue I concur with the Audi S4. Best of both worlds and if you pull a Bi-Turbo 2.7 6 speed you'll run them both with just a reflash and minor upgrades. Intake, exhaust, and reflash are good for around 340HP and 400 trq at the crank. S4 will likely be my next purchase FYI but I'm not selling the DSM when I do.
