I was looking at the rear of my engine bay today and noticed a braded wire coming off of the side of the silver Mitsubishi vehicle description tag (driver's side). Where does the other end of that go? It has to be a grounding wire, but for what? Mine is just hanging down. Something I forgot to put back one day.

I went ahead and connected the other end to one of the intake plenum stay bolts. Figured that that's one of the more likely places. Everything still works, but if someone knows exactly what it's connected to I'd appreciate it.

I have a braided grounding wire from my intake plenum to my firewall.

It is suppose to hook to the throttle cable bracket, and head to somewhere on the firewall.

It was moved further down to get it out of my way for spark plug changes long ago. It's simply a ground wire for the electrical components. plenum, heads, or block to the firewall should take care of it.

Hey thanks. I think I'll find another location for it, like you did, incase I need to remove the plenum again. I changed out the plugs a year ago and I guess I just forgot to reconnect that wire. That thing's been dangling there ever since.
