I still don't know why middle aged men like corvettes. I mean the old ones, like the stingray were cool...but these ones just look like crap (imo). i think DSMs are some of the best looking cars ever. I'm not just saying that because i have one either, first time i saw one i thought it was sweet looking. Perhaps it's the awesome bump on the hood? :)

Well when he was a teenager he had 3 1979 Pontiac Trans Am's at once. Why didnt he keep one? i have no clue :(....he said a corvette was his dream car and now he has 2...same with me, corvette is my favorite car and I want to own one when i get out of college or have the money to buy it and make the eclipse a project car because the engine only has 2,000 miles with a brand new tranny and new belts.

hmmm... when i read through this thread, a part of me died....

before anyone, and i mean ANYONE talks **** about SLP and what they've done with the 'vette, please go to this link. http://www.autoweek.com/files/specials/gal...06/pages/01.htm

i dont talk **** about any cars except ricers and drifters who, imho, are ****-licking, ****-munching, flaming homosexuals. (to see who i'm referring to, watch the slow and the curious part 1 or 2) however, i think that the last car on earth i'd ever talk **** about is a corvette. why? because you can buy a stock corvette for around $40k and it will eat anything alive that costs less than $80k. more reasons? well theres the Z06 and i really hope i dont have to explain that one to you... Lingenfelter, Mallet, ZR-1, Z-06, Stingray, Stingray II, the 1978 Pace Car, the 1998 Pace Car, the Corvette comes from such a prestigious heritage that saying anything negative about the longest-lasting car ever produced is automotive blashpemy. [/end rant]

I'm gonna have to disagree with you on the 40k vette beating anything that cost less than 80k. Thats just dumb. There are any number of cars that with that kind of money could completely stomp a vette. Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything wrong with corvettes, just open your mind a little.

Im with you. The problem is that they developed a name and over time got lazy so now its like there selling more name and less car. They could do better for cheaper, if the same car didnt say corvette it would be 30k not 40
