So, my 94 3kGT has just undergone an engine replacement, but it won't stat. For some reason, the fuel pump is not getting power. The pump is good, however, as when tested seperately it works. What are all the possible causes of it not getting power? My mechanic thinks it might be somthing to do with the alarm system, but since i don't have the key fob, i'm kinda SOL on that one. Is there any way to disable the alarm (like cutting power to it?)

Thanks in advance,
Greg

I don't know about the alarm system since I don't have the key fob for mine as well. If it was the alarm system, then wouldn't that just cut the power to the starter? Does the engine crank? Open the fuel gauge cover located to the right of your spare tire. To the right of the fuel pump there is a wire connection (fuel pump connector). Make sure that this is connected properly. This supplies the power to the fuel pump. If you go to the following link, you can see a good picture of the pump and the connection that I'm talking about. Let me know if it still won't start.

actually most alarms cut power to the fuel pump too (so thieves could go ahead and start the car, but they'd only get 50 feet), I don't know about solutions to this, other than alarm removal?

the factory alarm system will go off until the battery is dead, but i'm not sure if it will cut power to the pump.

to shut the factory alarm system off take the key, insert it in the outside of the driver's side door and lock and unlock the car.

Another spot that gets missed frequently when dealing with power to the pump is the system of relays that sends varing amounts of power to the pump... oh, but wait, that should just be on the VR-4s... sorry, I don't know what you have...

if you want to check that it's just fuel cut, run a wire from the battery to the pump. then try and start the car.

haha oh my god, the factory alarm on my girlfriend's stealth started going off in a pizza hut parking lot, I freaked, popped the hood and disconnected the negative battery terminal. Probably looked like I was stealing the car.
