hey everyone, I bought a 2001 Mitsubishi Mirage a few months ago and over the weekend I killed my car because I left my lights on. The wouldnt start so I had a friend jump start it for me. When I got the car running again my CD player didnt work in it. The display reads "CODE" and when I hit the skip track buttons it will change numbers on it that are 4 digits long I think. then if I hit "CD" it reads a number and error. once I get error 3 times it just says OFF and I cant do anything with it for a while. then it goes back to CODE. Is there some sort of code I need? can you help me out if there isa specific code? If so, How can I get it?

dude...a lot of the newer cars come with an anti-theft code on the stock stero head units...the reason why that happened is because you drained your battery...and that reset everything else in your car...because its pretty much the same as unpluging...if you unplug your +pos wire from the battery...it'll reset your radio again dude...you can go to a dealership to get the code...but those fruits will charge you...you were supposed to receive a card with the code on it within the car manual...but if you bought it used...they probably lost it...

I was able to get my code simply by taking off the front panel and locating the Serial number off the deck.....that number and the VIN of my car...I called the nearest dealership and they gave me the code over the phone.

Right now...I can't seem to get my code to be entered correctly....if you happen to have more luck with yours....would you please let me know the step by step procedure you used to enter it....thanks.

I need an anti-theft code as well. I have to sell my baby, and I need to re-install the stock radio for it. :(

Thanx for all your info.
Just installl the new battery for my 2000 Mirage, and use the code (I do have one) to reset the radio.
The reset procedure is
Press CD, it shows 0000
use the 1-6 FM/AM station button to enter the code. (My code is 4 digits, so I just need the first 4.)
Once you enter the code, Press CD again.
All set.

hi all,
I recently had the problem with my 2001 mirage CD/radio too, well after some research , I finally found that on ebay , there is a guy who sells the code for 8.99 . I tried it and it works .
you can give it a shot too.
Also it is worth it since if you need to replace the battery or something or if you disconnect the power you would need the code to reset the battery.
satya

I am new on this forum, so I am not sure how i works. recently I purchased a 2000 Mitsubishi Mirage DE. But now I am facing an issue, last weekend my battery said good bye, and now the Built In CD player is asking me for a code, which I don't have. My biggest problem is that I am in El Salvador, I Imported my Car from USA, so, I cannot contact the previous owner, and in El Salvador there is not dealer for Mitsubishi where I can approach and ask for the code. Any idea how can I resolved my issue??? I need help !!!!!!! :'(

hi Rhapsody, i am in Guatemala, i recentry impoted a mirage and the code came inside the owner's manual, just in a litle page corner writen with pencil,

if don't, the only way is to try combinations from 0000 to 9999, but each 3 times the radio locks, you need to wait 1 hour to try another 3 times, it is a titanic adventure,

good look...
