Hey guys,

It seems like a lot of people have problems with their stock radios in the 3000 GT. I've unlocked my infinity stereo, however when I attempt to turn up the volume I get nothing. There is absolutely no sound coming from the speakers. Ive tested the CD player as well and its the same thing. Does anyone know what could be causing this or perhaps where I can find some information on how to fix it?

Thanks,

Try this:

1. Remember the security code.
2. Unhook the negative battery cable.
3. Pull out the stereo unit.
4. Remove the stereo wiring harness and check to see if it's dirty, if so, clean the connections.
5. Connect the wiring harness, stereo ground cable and place the unit back in it's location.
6. Connect the negative battery cable and turn on the radio w/ security code.
7. Does it work? Can you hear sound? Can you change the radio stations on the display screen?

Let me know.

The volume knobs get crappy after a while in the infinity systems.

I have to spin my volume knob about 15 times to get the volume to go up a little bit. or sometimes it will just start to get louder all on it's own. or when I try to turn the volume down the volume will go up...

If everything seems to be working, it may be that also...

The fix that I have found is on the infinity systems with the 6 disk in the back and the 7 or 6 bar equaliser and what not, there is a steering wheel module with buttons. you can put one of those on if your car did not come with it.

best advice I can offer.
